Mil Geospatial LLC is a GIS consulting firm, recognized as a small business and a woman owned enterprise located in the Phoenix metro area. We offer a flexible and remote work environment with opportunities to work on local, state, tribal projects in Arizona and nationwide. Mil Geospatial is currently working on a high-profile international project. We work closely with both private and public sector clients offering a full spectrum of GIS services, serving either as the primary firm or as a sub consultant for more than 10 years.

GIS Technician

Mil Geospatial is currently working on a high-profile international project. We work closely with both private and public sector clients offering a full spectrum of GIS services, serving either as the primary firm or as a sub consultant for more than 10 years.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Associate’s degree in GIS or relevant field, and/or completion of an equivalent certification program

  • Esri experience with ArcGIS Pro and drone mapping software

  • Windows computer skills, with emphasis on Microsoft Office suite programs – Excel, Word, Outlook

  • Organizational skills and motivation to independently complete tasks and projects

  • Quality verbal and written communication skills and an ability to cultivate effective working relationships

  • Attention to detail and ability to simultaneously carry out multiple tasks and/or projects, assist with on-site drone mapping

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Parcel Fabric in ArcGIS Pro

  • Knowledge of GIS/CAD interoperability

  • Experience understanding architectural drawings and/or as-builts

Key Responsibilities

  • Publish and maintain ArcGIS web-based map services and applications in ArcGIS Online

  • Generate detailed custom maps using cartographic skills

  • Collect, validate, and manipulate GIS data using various sources (e.g. as-builts, etc.)

  • Prepare application workflow documents and procedures

  • This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week worked in remote and virtual capacities.
